bachinger ff9585f153 Provide an opt-out from clearing media items on stop After removing the deprecated call to player.stop(/* reset= */ true) and instead using two calls to the player, overridding stop in a ForwardingPlayer does not help to avoid clearing the player. MediaSession module

The MediaSession module mediates between a Player and a MediaSession. It automatically retrieves and implements playback actions and syncs the player state with the state of the media session. The behaviour can be extended to support other playback and custom actions.

Getting the module

The easiest way to get the module is to add it as a gradle dependency:

implementation 'com.google.android.exoplayer:extension-mediasession:2.X.X'

where 2.X.X is the version, which must match the version of the other media modules being used.

Alternatively, you can clone this GitHub project and depend on the module locally. Instructions for doing this can be found in the top level README.
